Our History

Based on the research spearheaded by Professor Daniel Topgaard at Lund University, Sweden, our techniques are focused on adapting strategies from solid-state NMR spectroscopy and magnetic resonance of porous media to clinical scanners. These techniques offer researchers a tool to better visualize and analyze diffusion MRI data and has a potential to aid in differentiating pathologies affected by changes in tissue microstructure.

In 2016, the proof-of-concept study ‘The link between diffusion MRI and tumour heterogeneity: Mapping cell eccentricity and density by diffusional variance decomposition (DIVIDE)’ published in NeuroImage, proved that our proprietary protocols for diffusion MRI sequence acquisition and post-processing were able to differentiate brain tumours in-vivo.

Our origins date back to 2008 when the Contract Research Organization CR Competence, founded by Drs Karin Bryskhe and Anna Stenstam, embarked on a project together with Professor Topgaard. Early on, our software protocols for advanced diffusion MRI sparked great interest, seeing the team awarded the Skåne Innovation Prize for their work on breast cancer imaging diagnostics as well as the SKAPA Foundation Prize in memory of Alfred Nobel.
