Random Walk Imaging AB develops proprietary software for advanced diffusion Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), to non-invasively visualize information about tissue microstructure. Using our dVIEWR powered by MICE ToolkitTM software (a combination of MR scanner-data acquisition sequences and post-processing software algorithms), a radiologist is able to extract more specific information of the tissue, while simultaneously obtaining the same data acquired when using diffusion MRI methods such as Diffusion Tensor Imaging (DTI).
Since diffusion MRI captures the movement of water, which is hindered by the presence of cell membranes, the image from the MR scanner will contain information about size, shape, and orientation of cells. While methods like DTI mix up information on how the microscopic features of the tissue are shaped and oriented, the implementation of our patented acquisition protocol on the MR scanner allows you to separate the two. With the subsequent use of our post-processing software algorithms, this results in images that contain more specific and detailed information.
Our proprietary acquisition sequences can be implemented on most clinical MR scanner platforms (see this link* for available versions) and our dVIEWR software is the tool to easily extract information from your acquired data.
